I got this in an email forwarded to me by my dear friend Elsie, kind soul that she is indeed.
How can you reduce cancer cells in your body?
Below are some useful information on one of the
deadliest diseases of our time.
1. Every person has cancer cells in the body.
These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests
until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell
cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their
bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to
detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the
detectable size.
2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in
a person's lifetime.
3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells
will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.
4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple
nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental,
food and lifestyle factors.
5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet
and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells
and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow,
gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver,
kidneys, heart, lungs, etc.
7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and
damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.
8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce
tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation
do not result in more tumor destruction.
9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy
and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed,
hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections
and complications.
10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate
and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause
cancer cells to spread to other sites.
11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by
not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
CANCER CELLS FEED ON:
a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one
important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like
NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful.
A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts.
Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour.
Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.
b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk
and substituting with unsweetened Soya milk, cancer cells are
being starved.
c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet
is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than
beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth
hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to
people with cancer.
d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains,
seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline
environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans.
Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily
absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to
nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live
enzymes for building healthy cells, try and drink fresh vegetable
juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some
raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at
temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).
e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.
Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties.
Water - best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid
known toxins and heavy metals in tap water.
Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.
12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of
digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines
become putrefied and leads to more toxic build-up.
13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining
from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the
protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells
to destroy the cancer cells.
14. Some supplements build up the immune system
(IP6, Florssence-ssence,Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals,
EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy
cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to
cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal
method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.
15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive
and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor.
Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a
stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and
forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.
16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment.
Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen
down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means
employed to destroy cancer cells.

Women and Heart Attacks
Thought this is something that everyone would be interested in. Even men as you probably have mothers, wives, sisters, etc. that you care about. Please pass this on.
I was aware that female heart attacks are different, but this is the best description I've ever read.
Women and Heart Attacks (Myocardial Infarction)
Did you know that women rarely have the same dramatic symptoms that men have when experiencing heart attack...you know, the sudden stabbing pain in the chest, the cold sweat, grabbing the chest & dropping to the floor that we see in the movies.
Here is the story of one woman's experience with a heart attack.
"I had a completely unexpected heart attack at about 10:30 pm with NO prior exertion, NO prior emotional trauma that one would suspect might've brought it on. I was sitting all snugly & warm on a cold evening, with my purring cat in my lap, reading an interesting story my friend had sent me, and actually thinking, "A-A-h, this is the life, all cozy and warm in my soft, cushy Lazy Boy with my feet propped up." A moment later, I felt that awful sensation of indigestion, when you've been in a hurry and grabbed a bite of sandwich and washed it down with a dash of water, and that hurried bite seems to feel like you've swallowed a golf ball going down the esophagus in slow motion and it is most uncomfortable. You realize you shouldn't have gulped it down so fast and needed to chew it more thoroughly and this time drink a glass of water to hasten its progress down to the stomach. This was my initial sensation---the only trouble was that I hadn't taken a bite of anything since about 5:00 p.m.
"After that had seemed to subside, the next sensation was like little squeezing motions that seemed to be racing up my SPINE (hind-sight, it was probably my aorta spasming), gaining speed as they continued racing up and under my sternum (breast bone, where one presses rhythmically when administering CPR). This fascinating process continued on into my throat and branched out into both jaws.
"AHA!! NOW I stopped puzzling about what was happening -- we all have read and/or heard about pain in the jaws being one of the signals of an MI happening, haven't we? I said aloud to myself and the cat, "Dear God, I think I'm having a heart attack !"
"I lowered the foot rest, dumping the cat from my lap, started to take a step and fell on the floor instead. I thought to myself "If this is a heart attack, I should be walking into the next room where the phone is or anywhere else.......but, on the other hand, if I don't, nobody will know that I need help, and if I wait any longer I may not be able to get up in moment."
"I pulled myself up with the arms of the chair, walked slowly into the next room and dialed the Paramedics... I told her I thought I was having a heart attack due to the pressure building under the sternum and radiating into my jaws. I didn't feel hysterical or afraid, just stating the facts. She said she was sending the Paramedics over immediately, asked if the front door was near to me, and if so, to unbolt the door and then lie down on the floor where they could see me when they came in.
"I then laid down on the floor as instructed and lost consciousness, as I don't remember the medics coming in, their examination, lifting me onto a gurney or getting me into their ambulance, or hearing the call they made to St. Jude ER on the way, but I did briefly awaken when we arrived and saw that the Cardiologist was already there in his surgical blues and cap, helping the medics pull my stretcher out of the ambulance. He was bending over me asking questions (probably something like "Have you taken any medications?") but I couldn't make my mind interpret what he was saying, or form an answer, and nodded off again, not waking up until the Cardiologist and partner had already threaded the teeny angiogram balloon up my femoral artery into the aorta and into my heart where they installed 2 side by side stents to hold open my right coronary artery.
"I know it sounds like all my thinking and actions at home must have taken at least 20-30 minutes before calling the Paramedics, but actually it took perhaps 4-5 minutes before the call, and both the fire station and St. Jude are only minutes away from my home, and my Cardiologist was all ready to go to the OR in his scrubs and get going on restarting my heart (which had stopped somewhere between my arrival and the procedure) and installing the stents.
"Why have I written all of this to you with so much detail? Because I want all of you who are so important in my life to know what I learned first hand.
1. Be aware that something very different is happening in your body, not the usual men's symptoms, but inexplicable things happening (until my sternum and jaws got into the act). It is said that many more women than men die of their first (and last) MI because they didn't know they were having one, and commonly mistake it as indigestion, take some Maalox or other anti-heartburn preparation, and go to bed, hoping they'll feel better in the morning when they wake up....which doesn't happen.
"My female friends, your symptoms might not be exactly like mine, so I advise you to call the Paramedics if ANYTHING unpleasant is happening that you've not felt before. It is better to have a "false alarm" visitation than to risk your life guessing what it might be!
2. Note that I said "Call the Paramedics". Ladies, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! Do NOT try to drive yourself to the ER--you're a hazard to others on the road, and so is your panicked husband who will be speeding and looking anxiously at what's happening with you instead of the road. Do NOT call your doctor--he doesn't know where you live and if it's at night you won't reach him anyway, and if it's daytime, his assistants (or answering service) will tell you to call the Paramedics. He doesn't carry the equipment in his car that you need to be saved! The Paramedics do, principally OXYGEN that you need ASAP. Your Dr. will be notified later.
3. Don't assume it couldn't be a heart attack because you have a normal cholesterol count. Research has discovered that a cholesterol elevated reading is rarely the cause of an MI (unless it's unbelievably high,and/or accompanied by high blood pressure.) MI's are usually caused by long-term stress and inflammation in the body, which dumps all sorts of deadly hormones into your system to sludge things up in there. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive..."
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail and sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

China Tainted Milk Scandal
It is a shame so soon after hosting the best Olympic Games ever, that China has now to deal with the scandal of tainted baby formula. The industrial chemical melamine found in the milk powder has, so far, caused the deaths of four infants, and over a hundred other newborn babies are found to be suffering from kidney failure. Added to that, samples of liquid milk from two manufacturers were also found to contain melamine. My heart goes out to these parents suffering the loss of their beloved babies as a result of pure human greed and a shameful disregard for human lives.
In April of 2007, it was reported that pet food produced in China was also contaminated with melamine. Some even contained a contaminated wheat gluten from China. That episode too resulted in the deaths of hundreds of cats and dogs.
Again in August 2007, the giant toy company Mattel had to recall hundreds of thousands of their toys made in China because of the danger of lead paint and tiny magnetic parts that small children were in danger of swallowing. It was reported that at least one child in the USA had died from injuries as a result of swallowing these tiny but powerful magnets. Many others underwent surgery to remove swallowed parts.
Then, some months ago, rumours had it that certain brands of canned meat from China contained corrugated cardboard passed off as meat! Someone said she heard it from a relative in Hongkong. Whether there's any basis to that rumour, I have no idea. But if that's true, then God help us!
In their pursuit of monetary gain, have these Chinese manufacturers lost their humanity and become killers of unsuspecting consumers at home and abroad who buy their products in good faith? And now, even innocent babies are not spared! Do the powers on high in China need more tragedies and fatalities to goad them into imposing and enforcing tighter quality control and more stringent measures on its manufacturers?
All these scandals of tainted stuff coming out of China is not doing the country any good. At best, it's going to make the Chinese appear as heartless, money-crazed monsters. At worse, it will cost them their economy because it's made the rest of the world paranoid about buying anything that's "MADE IN CHINA". Especially food products, not just for humans, but for our beloved pets as well. And I'm already paranoid - big time! I've cleared and dumped whatever China-made food products that I had in my pantry.
In their relentless pursuit of monetary gain, I dread to think what else these unethical Chinese businessmen will come up with in the future to jeopardise the lives and health of fellow humans after this scandal blows over. Will they learn and change for the better in the aftermath of this latest tragedy? Will these cruel unscrupulous businessmen come to their senses and recover their conscience?
God only knows. How true it is that "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." (1 Timothy 6:10 NIV)
It takes only a handful of blacksheep to tarnish the moral image of an entire nation. For years to come, China will have to live with the world looking at their foods and goods with great suspicion and loads of caution!

Silent Killers - Sweets To Avoid
I don't know if everyone is aware that artifical sweeteners in general are detrimental to our health, but the info has been around for as long as I can remember. Anyway, for the benefit of those who are not aware, or are in DENIAL, here are the hard facts for your consumption. Received this in an email, so I just cut and paste it here, lock, stock and barrel. If you have received this email as well, then you should pass it on - save some lives.
ASPARTAME - THE SILENT KILLER
For those who take Ricola & Fisherman , please note that they both contain Aspartame - the silent killer.
This website shows the adverse effects of ASPARTAME:
http://www.nexusmagazine.com/articles/aspartame.html
Fisherman Sweets
FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO EAT FISHERMAN SWEETS BE CAREFUL:
Sugar free products contain ASPARTAME .. So don't consume Sugar free product esp. 'fisherman sweets' ASPARTAME - THE SILENT KILLER (by Ron Harder)
To those who prefer to consume artificial flavoring:
There is an epidemic across North America today of Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus. Most people do not understand why this epidemic is happening, and they do not know why these diseases are so rampant. I would like to share with you the main reason we are having this very serious problem. Many people today use artificial sweeteners in their tea or coffee.
They do this because the ads they see on TV tell them that sugar is bad for their health. This is absolutely true. Sugar is toxic to us , but what most people use as a replacement for sugar is much more deadly. I am talking about ASPARTAME. It is the cause of the epidemic that was mentioned above. ASPARTAME is an extremely toxic chemical that is produced by a chemical company called Monsanto.
ASPARTAME is being marketed around the world as a sugar substitute and is found in all diet soft drinks, such as Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi . It is also found in artificial sweeteners such as NutraSweet, Equal, and Spoonful; and it is used in many other products as a sugar replacement.
ASPARTAME is marketed as a diet product, but it is not a diet product at all. In fact, it will cause you to GAIN weight because it makes you crave carbohydrates. Causing you to gain weight is only a very small part of what ASPARTAME does. It is a toxic chemical that changes the brain's chemistry. It can and does cause severe seizures.
This chemical changes the dopamine level in the brain, and it is particularly deadly for anyone suffering from Parkinson's disease.
ASPARTAME is extremely poisonous because one of the toxic ingredients of it is wood alcohol. When the temperature of Aspartame exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in it is converted to Formaldehyde, and then to formic acid, which in turn causes folic acidosis.
FORMALDEHYDE is grouped in the same class of poisons as Cyanide and Arsenic which are very deadly toxins. The only difference is, Formaldehyde kills quietly, and it takes a little longer. And, in the process of killing people, it causes all kinds of neurological problems. There are 92 documented symptoms of Aspartame Poisoning leading to coma and death.
The majority of these symptoms are neurological, because the ASPARTAME attacks and destroys the nervous system. One of these symptoms is Lupus, which has become almost as rampant as Multiple Sclerosis, especially with Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers.

Health Hazards from Mobile phones
There's been much talk lately about the health hazards posed by the use of mobile phones. It was discussed on the Larry King Live show a while ago, and you read about it in the newspapers, magazines and also on the internet. Apparently, the dangers to our health from the use of mobile phones are real and serious enough for us to take some precautionary measures. If you only use your mobile phone for emergency calls, then the risk is insignificant. However, if you use your mobile phone on a daily basis for business calls or chatting and gossipping for hours on end, then it is advisable to use a headset to avoid pressing your mobile phone up against your head.
Here are some points I have gathered from various sources that mobile phone users should take note of:
1. Constant exposure to electronic magnetic fields (EMFs) emitted by cell phones may create cancerous brain cells and tumours, though research is still ongoing to prove this claim. In the meantime, it is advisable to use headsets to minimize exposure to the EMFs.
2. The risk of death from brain cancer is higher for cell phone users who hold their cell phones against their heads compared to those who keep their cell phones away from their heads.
3. According to research done by American scientists, men who use their cell phones for more than 4 hours a day or for long periods at a time, may be in danger of damaging their sperm. Researchers recorded lower sperm count on test subjects who use their cell phones for long periods as compared to those who don't. Hmmm. Serious.
4. The risk to children using mobile phones are higher because their developing cells are more susceptible to damage by the EMFs emitted by mobile phones. Apparently, the effects might include deadly diseases, such as leukemia. So parents are well advised to warn their children against excessive use of their mobile phones.
Although all of the above potential health dangers from the use of mobile phones are still being widely researched and yet to be conclusive, I see no harm for us, in the meantime, to use a headset as far as possible when using our cell phones. Better be safe than sorry.

Going Bananas!
This is interesting.
After reading this, you'll never look at bananas in the same way again.
Posting this from an email I received.
NEVER put bananas in the refrigerator!!!
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.
Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.
But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.
Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!
Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!
So, the banana is really a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"
PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! One more tip from me here: need a quick shine on your shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...polish with a dry cloth. Amazing fruit !

Papaya Leaf Juice - Remedy For Dengue fever.
I discovered something interesting recently when I visited a friend who was hospitalised for dengue fever. It's a fact that, to date, there's no known medical cure for dengue fever since it's caused by a virus transmitted through the bite of the Aedes mosquito. However, it seems drinking papaya leaf extract helps to bring up the platelet count. One friend recounted that some months back, she too was hospitalised for dengue fever and one of her church members fed her the juice from raw papaya leaves and her platelet count went up from 8 to 120 (the normal platelet count is 150) after taking the juice for 2 days.
The recipe is quite simple really. Two pieces fresh papaya leaves (use only the leafy part, remove the stalks), wash clean, pound and squeeze out the juice. That should yield approximately 2 tablespoons of bitter juice to be taken as it is. Do not boil or dilute with water. One serving per day is recommended.
It is also recommended that you grow your own papaya tree, just in case. Just kidding! But not a bad idea, don't you think?
