The Top Five Cancer Causing Foods

The following information on the top five cancer causing foods has been credited to Mike Adams, known as the Health Ranger. According to Adams, the top five cancer causing foods are:

1. Hot dogs are high in sodium nitrates. The Cancer Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you really crave them, then buy those without sodium nitrates.

2. Bacon and processed meats. Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs. Bacon and other processed meats increase the risk of heart disease. The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to the risk of cancer.

3. Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble! First, they are made with white flour, sugar and hydrogenated oils, then deep fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams, may be the worse food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.

4. French fries are also made with hydrogenated oils and deep fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer causing acrylamide which occur during the frying process. Acrylamide is a chemical that can form in some foods during high temperature cooking processes, such as frying, roasting and baking. Acrylamide caused cancer in animals that were exposed to high doses of acrylamide, according to studies done by the US FDA.

5. Chips, crackers and cookies. These are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even those whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.
